Metro taxi, crane and specialised trucks from four city branches
What Metro Express carries
One job, one truck, no transfers
Metro Express gives every job its own vehicle instead of stacking loads together, so the freight stays on one truck from pickup to drop.
Branches in four capital cities
It runs metropolitan taxi trucks from Willawong in Brisbane, Mt Druitt in Sydney, Sunshine West in Melbourne and Royal Park in Adelaide, each with a local team.
GPS, SMS alerts and photo proof
Metro's operations teams and drivers work on GoDesta software, and its own clients get GPS tracking, SMS updates as a load nears, and photos with sign on glass at delivery.

Metro Express Transport Group since 1988
Martin Overman founded Metro Express in 1988, and its head of operations works from the Brisbane office. A Sydney branch opened at the start of 2002 to cater for the busy coast trading route, Melbourne followed in the same year, and Adelaide came soon after. The business marked 35 years with a national team event at Sanctuary Cove in Queensland.
What Metro Express transport does
Metro Express runs trucks and drivers on demand. Across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia, a customer can book a whole truck for the job or an express run, with metropolitan taxi trucks running point to point under a local team in each state, drawing on more than 500 vehicles. Each job gets a vehicle of its own. Loads are not doubled or tripled up, and nothing is transferred between trucks on the way.
Its Taxi Trucks are trays and tautliners of 1 to 12 tonnes, with trays from 2.4 to 9 metres long. Crane Trucks are 8 to 12 tonnes with front and rear mounted cranes and semi cranes. Specialised Trucks include tail lifts, pantechs and wide loads, and Semi Trucks cover trays and tautliners, semi cranes, extendables and oversized loads. By arrangement directly with Metro, its own customers can also use its specialist fleet, ask Metro to manage their own fleet or have one built to their specifications, brand trucks in their own designs, and use its storage.
Industries and Sydney project work
Its work covers construction, manufacturing, hardware, e-commerce, food and beverage, weddings and events, camping, boating and 4X4 gear, and machinery spare parts. In Sydney its crane trucks and flatbeds have carried materials to infrastructure sites. Its drivers are background checked, fully licensed and trained in chain of responsibility, and it recruits owner-drivers for metropolitan work.

- Sydney: Unit 2/105 Kurrajong Ave, Mt Druitt, with a team that knows the city's traffic and geography
- Melbourne: Unit 5/31-39 West Circuit, Sunshine West, with local knowledge of a spread-out city

Metro Express tracking
Metro's operations teams and drivers work together on GoDesta software. For its own clients, Metro offers GPS tracking with SMS updates when a load is due, booking emails and SMS alerts when a driver is on the way or has been on site too long, photos and sign on glass in its proof of delivery, a client dashboard of delivery movements as they happen, and job history at any hour. Each person in a client business gets a login matched to their role, and Metro can connect to a system the client already uses.
