CouriersPlease guide

How the CouriersPlease network works

CouriersPlease is part of FMH Group and describes itself as a franchised eCommerce and small parcel courier. Every delivery is made by a local franchisee who owns the business, buys the van and works their own territory, with national tracking systems, centralised customer service and national account management behind them. It calls its system a parcel distribution network: couriers collect from many senders, the parcels are sorted, then they go out for delivery. The company counts more than 40 years in business and more than 800 franchisees, and says its network covers 95 per cent of Australia's population.

Its depot list runs from Western Sydney, Newcastle, the Central Coast and Coffs Harbour in New South Wales to Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Melbourne and Dandenong South in Victoria, Adelaide and Perth.

CouriersPlease delivery options

When nobody is home, CouriersPlease leaves the parcel in a safe place under Authority to Leave, and in regional areas that is always how it delivers. Receivers can instead ask for a signature, collect from a nearby point, have it left with a neighbour, change the address or pick another day. Through HUBBED, receivers can use more than 3,000 collection points. Its next-day metro service lists photo proof of delivery to business and home addresses.

What CouriersPlease will and will not carry

  • No individual item can weigh more than 25 kg dead weight, and coupon freight also has to stay within 40 kg cubic weight.
  • Freight that could damage other parcels or injure handlers, such as sharp edges or poor packaging, should not be sent.
  • A narrow range of dangerous goods goes by road or rail in small amounts, for EDI customers cleared beforehand. Tasmania has no dangerous goods service, and lithium batteries never travel by air.
  • Alcohol is delivered under the Retail Drinks code, which rules out unattended same-day or express alcohol deliveries.

Through Senditt you book CouriersPlease parcel services by weight band from 250 g to 5 kg, as well as its Road Express and General Freight services, named the way Senditt's carrier account lists them.
