Border Express, from Albury to a national network
Border Express was established in 1981. The history in its corporate brochure starts with Border Express Albury, names Max Luff as founder, and also records the start of interstate freight operations and the launch of express parcel services. Today it describes itself as a national transport and distribution business with a network of capital city and regional sites, and it belongs to FMH Group (Freight Management Holdings Pty Ltd).
Bulk Express and Parcel Express
Border Express sells two named road services. Bulk Express is distribution in volume from one business to another, run through metro, regional and interstate delivery, and the brochure calls it the core of its service offering. Parcel Express covers express parcel work and delivery between businesses, shaped to each customer's operation. The brochure also lists warehousing and logistics solutions among the things Border Express offers.
Border Express Sydney, Perth and the wider network
The network map in the August 2024 brochure marks Darwin, Townsville, Mackay, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Coffs Harbour, Newcastle, Tuggerah, Canberra, Albury, Melbourne, Cranbourne, Geelong, Adelaide and Perth, with three sites in Sydney. Those company sites link to more than 80 regional agents, which the brochure says carry its deliveries into the regions. On its website the network list runs through New South Wales, Queensland, the Northern Territory, Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia and the ACT, and the network reaches from retail stores out to remote regional areas.
Newer sites appear in its news. Its Perth Airport site at 17 Tarlton Crescent was announced in September 2024, a depot at Cranbourne West in Victoria in October 2024, and two more depot openings in June 2025. The website has a depot finder for the nearest Border Express depot.
Trucks, routes and emissions
Its 2024 brochure lists vans and rigid trucks, the rigids with tail-gates available, for pick-up and delivery, and semi-trailers and B-doubles, including mezzanine, straight deck, pantech and side loader configurations, for linehaul, pick-up and bulk delivery. Border Express plans its fleet work with network and route simulation and cloud route optimisation, weighs fuel use and Euro 6 emission levels when it replaces vehicles, and was installing EV chargers in its site car parks at the time.
Border Express tracking, track and trace
A Border Express consignment is tracked by its consignment number. The website's Track It panel accepts up to 15 numbers at once, and the BEX Online Quick Track page does the same for one or many. The brochure says Border Express scans more than 80% of deliveries in depot and uploads a sign on glass proof of delivery within minutes, and that direct links into its regional agents' systems give real-time visibility across the country.
Its own account customers book pickups, create quotes, raise consignments and track freight in the BEX Online client portal, and work with an account manager, local customer service centres and a credit team in Australia. Shippers without a Border Express account are pointed to an online enquiry on its site.
Booked through Senditt, a Border Express consignment shows in your Senditt dashboard beside your other Senditt consignments.
