BlueStar started out in Melbourne in 1987 as a small family freight firm and describes itself as fully Australian owned, now under new ownership. Its head office is on the Hume Highway at Somerton, and it has sites at Erskine Park in New South Wales, Willawong in Queensland, Wingfield in South Australia and Hazelmere in Western Australia.

Today it offers national door to door freight, international forwarding and warehousing, with its warehouses spread across those five states. Its terms refer to on-forwarders for remote and out of area deliveries.

Its warehouses hold about 30,000 pallet spaces per site and handle receipting, pick and pack, despatch and container destuffing. The international side runs sea freight as full or shared containers, air freight forwarding and in-house customs clearance. Those are arranged with BlueStar directly; through Senditt you book its Express service.

BlueStar's home page has a track and trace box that finds a domestic consignment by its consignment number or a reference number. Its account customers log in to an online tracking system for real-time tracking and proof of delivery, and book through a separate online despatch system. Each state location lists its own email and phone line.

BlueStar's own terms with its account holders set these limits, so check with Senditt before booking freight near them:

• No machinery, and no lengths over 2.4 metres.
• Each item up to 2.2 metres high and 2,000 kg.
• Furniture flat packed or crated.
• Delivery to a physical street address, never a PO Box, at ground floor and front door.
• Dangerous goods fully described when the job is requested, unless agreed in writing, with the paperwork handed over at pickup.

It holds NHVAS mass and fatigue management accreditation and HACCP food safety accreditation, and lists Chain of Responsibility among its accreditations.
