What Allied Express carries
Four courier levels, Economy to Express Gold
Allied's door to door courier comes as Economy, Express VIP, Express Executive or Express Gold. On its own bookings the higher levels add closer staff monitoring, and Express Gold ends with Allied calling the sender to confirm delivery.
Interstate linehaul tied to local fleets
National Distribution Services hand courier and taxi truck pickups to Allied's interstate linehaul, then back to its local fleet for delivery at the far end.
Depots in five capitals, agents past them
Allied runs depots at Bankstown Aerodrome, Broadmeadows, Archerfield, Royal Park and Forrestfield, and works with about 50 regional agents for freight heading further out.

Allied Express and Freightways
Allied Express has handled local and national freight since 1978 and is a Freightways business. It is headquartered in Sydney and keeps offices in each major mainland capital. Its local same day courier and taxi truck work is carried under the Allied Express Transport name, while overnight freight runs as Allied Overnight Express.
Allied Express depot locations
Allied lists five depots: 3 Murray Jones Drive, Bankstown Aerodrome in New South Wales; 2 William Barak Blvd, Broadmeadows in Victoria; 570 Transition Drive, Archerfield in Queensland; 2/7 Brandwood Street, Royal Park in South Australia; and 881 Abernethy Rd, Forrestfield in Western Australia. Past the capitals it relies on about 50 regional agents, and it says it delivers to every postcode in the country.
Allied Express couriers and taxi trucks
The courier side is coordinated from staffed control rooms in the major capitals, and the fleet stretches from inner city bicycles up to linehaul vehicles. Economy is its economical level, with delivery times that depend on the driver's load. Express VIP is flagged at a higher priority, Express Executive is watched by a customer service supervisor, and Express Gold is overseen by the Operations Manager. A bicycle courier is also offered for urgent deliveries within the city only.
The Taxi Truck Service takes heavy or oversized one-off loads, and Allied offers its own customers taxi trucks to supplement their fleet when a truck is off the road or work runs higher than usual. Taxi trucks are dispatched by control room staff based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, and on its own Express Executive taxi truck jobs Allied gives the sender the receiver's identity as confirmation.
Interstate and local distribution
For freight between states, National Distribution Services pass courier and taxi truck pickups onto Allied's interstate linehaul and back to local vehicles for the delivery. Contractors run vans and utes around the cities and linehaul trucks on the long runs, and large automated sortation systems process freight inside its depots. Allied also arranges Local Distribution Services directly with its own customers, and can place an Allied supervisor in their warehouse to manage despatch.
What Allied Express transport carries
Allied's jobs range from a small consignment across town to several pallets going interstate, and it suggests satchels for small goods and documents. Pallets need to be stacked evenly and held with shrink wrap, strapping or banding. Its restricted list for Allied Overnight Express rules out items such as firearms, livestock, perishables, paint and liquids, and anything longer than 2.4 metres even in a crate. Goods such as wine or spirits, tiles, tyres, glass, surfboards and kayaks, and pallets larger than 1.2 by 1.2 by 2.1 metres, need written authorisation from its GM of Operations.
Allied Express tracking
On its own site, Allied's track and trace form takes a consignment or reference number with the destination postcode. Courier and taxi truck drivers log the pickup time, the drop and the receiver's name on an onboard terminal, and Allied can give its own customers the suburb a job is in while it moves, through GPS. Overnight freight is scanned at each site, and Allied's own account holders sign in to see the scans, proof of delivery and a copy of each consignment note.
When Allied Express is booked through Senditt, those consignments sit in your Senditt dashboard with every other carrier you send with.

Allied Express questions
Is Allied Express part of Freightways?
Yes. Allied's own site calls it a Freightways business and publishes the Freightways Supplier Code of Conduct. It has been moving freight since 1978, with its head office in Sydney.
Will Allied Express move dangerous goods?
Allied says it does carry dangerous goods, with its own specifications and requirements. Its restricted freight list for Allied Overnight Express takes them only with written authorisation from its GM of Operations, for Allied's own major customers, depending on the type of goods, and where they are a small percentage of the total workload.
How does Allied Express track and trace a delivery?
On Allied's own site, a consignment or reference number plus the destination postcode finds the job. Its drivers log courier and taxi truck jobs on onboard terminals, overnight freight is scanned at every site it passes through, and each item is signed for electronically at delivery.
Can Senditt book Allied Express couriers?
Yes. Allied Express can be booked through Senditt, and courier or interstate express jobs can come up in a Senditt quote beside other carriers.
